Funny, this post was written in August 2007, almost five years ago. OOMA has moved away from POTS line as backup idea. The post doesn't tell the user even back then could have an option of keeping POTS and OOMA as independent lines if they wished.
The post goes great lengths to find fault with the service, but doesn't even has a correction when OOMA rectified the short coming.
I am a happy OOMA customer for more than three years. I was looking for an answer and accidentally hit this post.
A little bit of positive attitude goes a long way....

Oh, they already hurt small businesses. There is nothing "objective" about Yelp reviews. My business has about 22 Yelp reviews, but every time a customer posts a positive review, it is hidden form the viewer. However, I still have the only 2 negative reviews our business received, over 4 years ago, posted prominently on the front page. And no, I am not an advertiser.

Has there been a change in the QR code format?
A few years back I generated(from a web utility) a code that was recognized by Nokia phones. It had solid lines up 2 sides of the square.
Most people with iphone apps cannot read this code and I have now had to generate a new one...which has the squares in three corners.
do you know anything about this?

We went through a vetting process several months ago and ended up with a mac mini box as our media device. We looked at GoogleTV, Boxee and Roku, but felt pretty limited in how much content we could consume through each. Fast forward to today, I'm still happy with the decision, especially after hearing all the pains of GoogleTV customers. The only disappointing part of having a full PC box is having to interact with another set of input devices...Thanks for your perspective. We may change course someday.

I have been using the wireless headset for a couple of weeks. Now (late 2011) it is $10 cheaper but comes without a carrying case. This is unfortunate because the dongle has no way to attach to the headset. So I use an Eagle Creek quarter cube bag to carry both in.

I am pleased with the sound quality, and I LOVE the ability to step away from the computer. Several times with my wired headset I leaned over to get something out of a drawer or my bag only to yank the headset off my head, tip over something on the desk, etc.

I have a weekly team meeting via Skype and have received poor reviews from my team members. They say that my voice comes in and out and they can hear a lot of ambient noise they could not hear before (I had not told them I got a new headset--they just noticed).

I also scratch my head at the "Mute" light. Not only can't you see it... but how do you turn it on mute anyway? :)

So for wireless music while travelling, looks good. For Skype calls... I'll probably be using my wired Everyman.

I use it occasionally this wireless headset for about 10 months. One day ago I notice that is not turning on when I press power button. I try to charge it for more than 14 hours but the red LED indicating the charging is always ON like is not charged anymore. After more than half day of charging is still impossible to turn ON. I don't know what the problem is, the official product website is not so good in indicating support for troubleshooting.
Any ideas will be helpful...

Why has Google dropped them? Why is Apple not interested?
Too many obstacles in my opinion. Download a reader, scan the photo, and normally receive a link to a web page that is not configured to your handset.
If I am an advertiser I can only use QR codes in print campaigns, QR codes can't be used on TV or radio nor communicated orally.

how do i get to http version? i tried typing it in, it still reverts to https. i tried changing setting to "don't always use https", the address always goed to https that's crossed out (due to my VPN connection most likely). just want to use chat again, not sure why it stopped working.
